Running version 1.8 on my iMac 2013 with Yosemite 10.10. I run the game full screen, everything runs fine, game can be played. Once attempting to exit the game, the system crashes, I get black screen with the dreaded spinning beach ball, and the only way to get out of this is to hold down the power button to shut the system down.
Anyone having this issue and have come up with a solution?
Add me to that list. My son's 2014 MBA with 10.10 also freezes.....need some help to get this resolved. Def looks like a java issue, based on the comment above and what I felt....
you guys need to make sure the game is using the current java versions. the launcher uses the apple java but the game needs to use java 7 or 8 from oracle's website. open terminal type "java - version" if it lists version 1.6 that's your problem, or just open the game and press f3 and see what version it's using. after installing the new java edit your profile in the launcher and point the java directory to "/usr/bin/java" this solved the problem for us, we were experiencing the exact same thing.
