Hi! So, I want to play with my brother on Lan, because we only have one premium account, and I don't want to buy another one, yes, I know, we're cheap, but we did a lot on our account anyways, and I don't play minecraft every single day, anyways. Now, I know you can use lan to play with one offline person if you have a premium account, so does anyone know how to play together on one account, even if it's not on Lan. Thank you, and also, we've already checked in many places, and we've seen tutorials, but we always ecounter problems, so I want to ask one-on-one.

Go to .minecraft folder and edit "launcher_profiles.json"...find " "displayName": "USERNAME" (your name) and change it to something different. Save.
The player with the better computer needs to load a world, hit Esc and start LAN.
EDIT: You may need to disconnect from the internet before loading the Launcher, as the change you made might get overwritten automatically.
