right now im working on a floating village and its about 30 blocks above the ground that's covered in water. As I fly around to work on parts of this place, randomly the entire place just kinda disappears and reappears randomly. Is there any way i can fix it? The first picture is what my place should look like, the next picture is whats really happening. In that second picture, notice there's a huge spot missing in the middle. Spots like that are popping up all over the place and sometimes everything will disappear completely, but i can still see the grayish outline of the blocks that you get when you hover your mouse over them.
The random disappearing and reappearing is just Minecraft working normally- remember the world is pretty much infinite; loading the whole lot at once would melt your computer.
So the world is split into 'chunks'- 16x16 columns, and only the chunks around you remain loaded. If you bump up your render distance, you render more of the world and you see it happen less.
Theres a few mods [like far-render or Optifine] which can massively boost the render distance, or you can use a 'chunk-loader' mod to force your village to stay loaded.
The bits missing is just a graphical glitch- fly into it and it should re-render.

A mighty machine built within the wake
Of a long dead dream, little demon awake
The citizens sleep, never quite knowing when
The device will reawaken, hungry again.
