What's up Minecraft forum? I am in need of assistance, I have tried to find good a good-low-cost graphics card to run Minecraft (and been very unsuccessful, (how do I know its the graphics card? When I minimize my Minecraft to a 50x50 resolution, this allows it to run 6x times faster FPS, when I expand it, it keeps running 3-5 FPS.)) This has not bothered me as much in past versions of Minecraft for some reason, but with newer versions it is really getting hard to see what you're doing with a 50x50 window so I was wondering if you'd have any ideas? I am budgeting around 30-50$ and currently running a NVIDIA Quadro NVS 285 card,
Thanks for all the help!
Sorry, forgot to mention, I am running a Windows 7 professional desktop PC also! (with a PCI express x16 socket for the graphics card.)
Honestly, Minecraft is a pretty CPU dependent game. Typically the CPU impacts the game more than anything. I have an older Toshiba laptop with an i3-2330M (IIRC) and it just used the integrated graphics from Intel and I still managed a solid 30 fps on fast graphics and render distance of 10. Then again, the Quadro NVS 285 is a rather weak card.
OP, I'm going to be honest. A graphics card for that little is basically worthless, as integrated graphics is almost always better. The cheapest card most people recommend is something like the 750TI (Nvidia, about $130-$150). What are the rest of your machine's specs?
