I've been trying to install Forge (1.7.2) and I'm having a serious issue.
Once I install it and try to run Minecraft, it just crashes the entire program.
It doesn't give me a crash report or anything. Just crashes.
I've uninstalled Minecraft and tried reinstalling it multiple times.. along with Forge. Still crashes.
Has anybody had this problem? Does anybody have a FIX for this problem?
The launcher log has nothing. The game completely crashes and doesn't open after I click the 'Play' button.
Minecraft literally just crashes and that's that.
On the launcher, in the bottom left corner there is a dropdown menu where you pick profiles, and two buttons. Pick your profile of choice, hit Edit Profile, and near the bottom of the window that pops, there will be java settings. Check the checkbox next to java path, and then point it to:
where you replace xx in the version number with whatever java version you have. Or if you don't have the jdk, find where your java is. You can go to system preferences on your mac, click on java, a panel will pop up, hit column that says Java and then View and it should show you the file path which then you use in the launcher. Make sure you pick the version 7 java file path. If you've uninstalled java 7 (unlikely if you're just updated java when it prompted you to), reinstall it so you have both 7 and 8.
Oh not sure why it was looking like mac to me. See where the Java folder is for 1.8.0u25? It's written as the default in java settings for MC. Go to the same folder and it should have version 7 in there as well. Something like jre1.7.0_xx Then just change the file path to point to the version 7 instead of 8 folder. The rest of the path stays the same
