So, my pc exploded and the hard drive burned. For this reason, I had to buy a new one. Fortunately, practically all my files are safe, and so I still have what I had before.
Except my saves in Minecraft. The entire .minecraft, the folder where you put your maps, resource packs and others, got deleted.
When I have tried to run Minecraft, it has no worked, because I had to download again all the updates for the graphic card, and, when I've tried to explore .minecraft, the folder was no existing. Once finished the updates, Minecraft was completely empty, with no saves and others.
So, my question is: the folder has been deleted directly when my hard drive was changed, or they could still be in the old one and I have simply to try to recover them?
Other than a new hard drive, I've also passed, finally, from windows xp to windows 7.
Thanks for any help and sorry if this is not the right place to ask.
the .minecraft was on your old hard drive, if it wasn't saved and transferred to the new one then its gone, the saved folder is not backup up (unless you do it manually)
The majority of the .minecraft folder is downloaded from the minecraft servers as they are required files, the saves and resourcepacks folders are made and filled by playing

I can still recover data from my old hard drive, can I find the folder?
