Okay guys, So I know you all have huge worlds (like me ) however, mine has started lagging hardcore. I build a survival world, its the pride of my life basically, but it spans a full distance of a map, and has a ton of blocks. one day, for no reason, I logged on, and it started going crazy low fps. I dont think its my hardware, I have a i7 quad core with 15G of DDR3 and i'm running windows 8.1 pro, and a Mid level PNY graphics card... Any suggestions? Lowering the block render distance has not helped at all nor has lowering graphics settings or anything... Help?
I looked at your signature and I have found 1 mistake. Esp means extra sensory perception. Instead put e.g. as this means example. Anyway, back on topic, could you tell us your fps? Have you installed any new programs? Any viruses? Sorry if I am overwhelming you with questions, but we need more info.
Pretty sure he meant "Especially."

You using any mods or is it vanilla, also do you have any mob farms or extremely large flat areas where lots of mobs can spawn, or any large redstone contraptions, any of these could cause bad lag mainly the mob farms or redstone contraptions if left going for a long time, also keep the development console open when loading the world and see if it its saying anything unusual, it probably won't if your using vanilla mc but if you have mods installed it may be helpful, i know one time i had the battletowers mod installed with a bunch of others and it started lagging bad and my development console was constantly filled with failed attempted generations most likely from an incompatibility or memory leak or just bad coding
Well, its the latest update version. No mod packages or anyting like that. just a plaino jano survival world. but a big one. another odd thing is that when i run it, it spikes up to taking up a full gig of ram to run it. which is unusual.
anyways, It does lag some with other worlds, but not anywhere near as much. and its off and on. this world... its just constant.
and if i deleted my .minecraft folder? I would lose the world... no?
Have you tried applying the JVM arguments -Xmx2G to your launcher? It may help with larger worlds that require more memory to run. By default, Minecraft will only use up to 1G of RAM, larger worlds (larger renders) require more RAM. This could be your issue, but I wouldn't bet any money on it.
