I cannot run minecraft 1.7.3 or higher. I use a Windows Vista and this is the message it gives me when I try to run 1.8.0:

I understand others have this problem. If you do have this problem please do not say so as it will do no help to this thread. If you know how to solve it PLEASE TELL ME!! I really want to play on Minecraft 1.8!
I've seen many of these threads, I'm not good with remembering crash reports, but when people say they can only run 1.7.2 and not higher, it's mainly because they don't have OpenGL 2.1. This is graphics support AFAIK, so the only fix to this would be to check for updates to your graphics card driver online and install them (this hardly ever installs OpenGL2.1 with it) or to buy a new graphics card altogether.
I could be wrong, but this is mainly the problem when I see these threads.

Actually most of the Intel cards are known to have issues with OpenGL support, not that they can't use newer OpenGL.
