So this is really starting to bother me. I'm getting pretty near unacceptably low FPS despite my computer being really powerful. I understand Minecraft, computers, and graphics, which is why I can't figure out why this is happening. Perhaps someone more experienced with OptiFine could help me in getting my settings right, or offer other advice? I have an AMDFX8350 4GHz, Sapphire R9 280X, 16GB Kingston HyperX Blu, and Minecraft is running from an SSD. I'm getting around 30 FPS during regular play with a 16x resource pack with V sync off, which is crazy low in my opinion. I have a fair amount of mods but none of them are particularly script intensive or anything so I can't imagine they're murdering my FPS like this. I've included some screenshots of my OptiFine settings. Thanks in advance!

Oh I know all that, but my point is I should be able to have that all on or fancy and still get well over 60 FPS. This is the same rig that can run Crysis 3 on ultra at around 50. So 30 FPS in Minecraft even with "fancy" trees and such is absurd. Does that make sense? I'm thinking maybe I have like one rogue setting which is killing my FPS. Or maybe some other wayward configuration somewhere/somehow on my computer. Thank you for your reply!!!

There is a gripping darkness here and
We all hear it, and hearken, clearly;
It’s dripping but we’re drowning, nearly.
We feel this, older than salt and snow,
Below us, written in rocks and cold,
It’s all around, but nowhere known,
And never known as evil shows.
Forgotten, forbade for age and longer,
Sealed in sound and temples stronger,
Songs sung softly for time long yonder,
We know An’s deathly breath, song tells
He’s bound and we must ring the bells
Songs lost and never nearly sung,
Never again, not ere those bells are rung,
Not quickly, not lightly; Hell awaits,
But to Us, light will owe its Grace.
