So i play minecraft mostly multiplayer online but my partner and i share a LAN world, 5 days ago we were playing happily, in the past 5 days while i was away however something has changed, when she opens the world to LAN i can not find it.
She installed trend micro internet security but even after disabling it the world will still not show, if i open a world she can not see it either.
I have not used my pc since that day and she swears she has only installed the internet security and that's it.
I've looked all throughout google and mc forums and have not been able to find a fix for us, please if you can lend a hand it would be much appreciated.

Were you and your friend on the same Network? LAN worlds require both players to be on the same network.
yes we were on the same network and both using the correct mc version.

We have tried version 1.7.10 and 1.8 and neither work despite once working, We have checked all trend security and nothing seems to differ from what mine was and was before.
We have gone as far as turn off all of our windows firewall and even shutdown the internet security and that hasn't changed anything.
We are on the very same network, internet and our cable definately works, we have tested it with other games.
Anything i am missing that might help? I've wracked my brain for hours over this now and we still cannot see a LAN world even show up when it's opened.
I'm not getting any errors, i just cant see the world full stop.

I think i have narrowed it down to the issue being a windows update, its the only thing that has been changed otherwise on her PC, and we tried an older PC and minecraft works but is in no way 'playable' unfortunately. Still cannot find a solid answer online as to how to resolve this though

We got it (kinda) fixed, she wiped her pc fully and rebooted it. found it straight off the bat right after reinstalling, not sure what it was that was affecting it.

Cant be a windows update, it was anti virus / firewall 99%
Well maybe if you told me how, i might believe you but according to all i could find, it was 100% a windows update. nothing was different or off about the antivirus or firewall.
I asked many different forums and all results led me to the very same conclusion.
