So about a week ago, my minecraft crapped out on me. Once I opened it up through the launcher, I was trying to get on us.mineplex.com and it would show all of motd. I try to log in, connects to the server, tries to log me in and it said the authentication servers were down. BUT WAIT, before you go commenting that Mojang is just working on minecraft and it'll be fine, this has happened for a WEEK! I tried reinstalling my minecraft by deleting the .minecraft folder, restarting my computer, closing and reopening minecraft... I even took my internet cord (where it goes through my router), and plugged my computer's cord straight into the modem for full-power internet, and it still doesn't work! All of my other games work, Garry's Mod, TF2, google also works, but Minecraft just. Won't. Work! Please help.
Here are my specs. http://pastebin.com/LTVW9hpq I am running minecraft 1.8, I've also tried running 1.8.1-pre3.
I am having similar problems with Mineplex this week. I try login into Mineplex, and it works only about 5% of the time. Every time I try getting in, it connects. then logs in, but then a message appears, and these are the exact words, "Could not connect to default or fallback server, please try again later: io.netty.channel.Connect.TimeoutException". Also, I am guessing I am not the only one with these problems, since the number of players online is somewhere around 1,000, when the max is 69,000. At one point the max number of players was 0, and the number of players was -1... The best option I can think of is to wait it out, but if anyone can explain what is happening right now, it would be greatly appreciated.
