i have a server i wish to play on that runs 1.7.8 however when i create a new profile in the launcher, and go to versions, even with the snapshots and older versions checked, i only see 1.7.5 two that have a date on them, and then 1.7.9 any idea why?
1.7.8 was replaced by 1.7.9, there will not be a difference if you play with it, 1.7.5 should work too. Don't use 1.7.4 or lower or 1.7.10 and you should be good.

Usually versions aren't pulled after the next version comes out but 1.7.8 was. It is NOT AVAILABLE.
