So I've been playing Minecraft no problem for months but today, when I try to login to some of the more popular multiplayer servers, they are all not connected (still connecting not with a red X or anything). Only 2 servers are online and when I try to login I get a message saying authentication problem and it doesn't let me log in. Then, my internet crashes at that point and doesn't come back on till like 5 minutes later. When I try to open websites on Chrome or something, it gets stuck on "resolving host". I don't know if it is a Java Problem because I have the latest one installed and the correct bit for my computer. I don't know what this is and no one seems to have the problem. I also checked the mojang help site and saw that all servers are running fine...
There are a couple of things that could help you. First is to make sure you have an Ethernet connection. Second is to reboot your computer (shut it down and turn it back on). Hope this helped.
Try changing your password to something new that is at least 10 - 16 digits long and include: numbers, characters, and symbols).

update the FIRMWARE on your router: this could fix crashes
I think my firmware is fully updated, and I've tried the firewall thing but it still doesn't work...
Edit: It turns out that I can play Single Player not multiplayer, but my skin doesn't pop up in Singleplayer. Not sure if that's a lead to what my problem is but its something. Other than that, multiplayer still crashes by internet and multiplayer doesn't work. I tried joining my friend's server that he set up but it doesn't work either.
this happens to me as well. i think it has something to do with melware because this started to happen while a melware called 'gosave' struck my computer,
just keep on try to turn minecraft on. if the internet crashes, turn off your modem for a minute or two then try again (repeat if necessary)
Update: I tried it on another computer (same internet) crashed internet as well. Most likely internet prob. Gonna try on laptop at uncle's house to see if it's an internet prob or minecraft login prob.
get TDSSkiller, SpyBotSD, and Adaware. download and install all three. (download the updates for them(Built in updater)) and run the scanners. This should help with removing any malware you might have.
Umm... I already have virus protection, Trend Micro Titanium, and my dad bought that for $90 for 5 computers, I think I'm pretty good on malware. But if you still think so, I'll install.
Thanks in advance,

Ty for saying though...
