Can't log on to a Realms server.

So I'm having an issue where I cannot for the life of me, log into one of my friend's Realms. Everytime I try, I get this error

java.lang.nullpointerexception

She connected, yet I cannot. I can successfully log into regular multiplayer servers but for some reason, on realms I cannot get it to work.

EDIT: Note I also am in 1.8.2 pre-release as I could not get my launcher to actually launch with 1.8
Any suggestions/fixes?
