Minecraft keeps "Running out of memory" and crashing While playing on the Showbow network server. Version 1.7.10, I already have 1GB Allocated and I only have Optifine, Does anyone know why?

If you overdo on graphical settings, especially set a large Render Distance, then you will need extra memory.
For example, vanilla Minecraft 1.8 added render distance 32, but won't let you actually more then 16 if you don't have at least 2GB assigned for the game.
I tried all render distances from 2 to 16. I've tried turning all graphics to lowest and using optifine's options, Still runs out of memory after like 30 minutes of playing.

Retired StaffShotbow network states you can use Optifine so it should be compatible and I have 6GB on my PC.
