Hey guys, lately I have found that I am having intense lag waves that just start spontaneously and causes my FPS to drop th where I have several seconds between frames, I'd say about 15 seconds or so. I can still manage to save my world but then saving will cause my screen to freeze for about a minute before I can see the main screen and finally restart Minecraft. I also have noticed that my OS will work fine for a few moments and then lag for a few moments after minecraft closes.
I am running opensuse 13.1 on an HP 2000 that ha had it's internal monitor removed.
Ram: 4GB, allocating 2.5Gb to minecraft,
Intel Pentium 2020M @2.40GHz (Detected as two individual CPUs, I assume this is since it is a dual core?)
Hard disk: 1TB External HDD, internal SATA port is faulty.

No actual errors in that log. Your CPU is a bit slow for modded Minecraft. Do you have an actual GPU or just Intel integrated junk?
Try mods like Optifine or Fastcraft(1.7.10 only). I already have Optifine installed, and integrated graphics. also miraculously I with the FPS limit set at 30, my choice preference, I still max it out.
do you think Fastcraft and optifine might be able to play nice with eachother?
Also, is this based on the specs I provided or the time it took to start up based on that log?
How long do you play between shutting down Minecraft? It tends to lag like crazy if you play for a long time. Also, how good is your computer?
I usally play for several hours straight between restarting on weekends (I have no life), although once it happened the first time the second attack came well within an hour during my transition from sea to land, before slightly corecting it'self and then stalling out

1.Do you use any mods? 2.Has this happened before?Try loading up some other saves and see if it's just a problem with that world. If it is, then that save might be corrupted. However, try waiting and play Minecraft normally for a day or two, because sometimes it just decides to lag out for no reason.

Yes I have about 67 mods installed as indicated by Forge, It has happened once before, and I will try loading up an old save once I get home.

Are there any conflicts between your mods, and are any of them buggy?Do they do anything that could cause lag(spawning lots of stuff, making things move around, etc), and do you use any texture packs?

I use the x32 john Smith texturepack, also I was playing with the information gui open and I noticed that right before lagging out the ram just suddenly shot up to use 1485mb or 73% of my total alocated ram. so now i'm wondering what is causing this.
As for incompatibilities one of the tanks I have crash my game when I place them, but other than that I do not know of any other items.
You, uhm, you don't just run out of graphics. In the past, I've noticed that lag on my old laptop came around when the CPU was being used too much. Might want to check that the next time you get a spike.

Here is the startup log if it helps: http://pastebin.com/yBCr3Xts
Also, would updating my LWJGL be of any use or would it be futile?
