Go to Start and type in cmd. Right-click the results that appears and click 'Run as administrator', then accept then UAC dialogue.
In the command prompt window, type the following command and press enter:
netsh winsock reset
Once complete, restart your computer and try Minecraft again.

i have looked all over the web for a fix in uninstalled my software that others ere having the problem with and i still have the same problem
