I am having an issue with Minecraft that I've never seen before and cannot seem to fix. So my computer specs are
Intel i5-4670 CPU @ 3.4GHz
NVIDIA Gtx 760
8 GB Memory
On Windows 8.1 64-bit
So I've been running Minecraft w/ shaders fine since I got the computer a couple of weeks ago, I get no lag and easily 400+ FPS with shaders enabled. But the last 2 days I cannot run my world at all, yesterday I loaded my world, went into the nether and I was searching for a nether fortress then I started getting 0 FPS and major lag spikes. After some time of this, the client crashed, I restarted it and it began working fine.
Until today I started playing again, went to the nether, collected some resources, then I started back to the portal and the FPS dropped again. This time I waited for the crash and it never happened. I restarted the client, it worked for about a minute and I was able to leave the nether but the lag started again. I read somewhere that one cause of this is that Minecraft doesnt have enough memory, but I checked my task manager during the lag spikes and minecraft was using 1GB of memory of the 8 that I have on my system, and CPU usage was below 20% as well as memory. And the game never crashed or gave me any error messages, it will just freeze at 0 FPS for a few minutes, stop for a second and then freeze again.
Does anyone know what this is? If it's lag, a memory dedication issue, or what could be causing this?
