I'v tried resetting the chunk by breaking blocks but to know avail. Any suggestions?

It looks like you're experiencing this bug: https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC-62958
Turn on VBOs in Options > Video Settings and see if that helps. If not, reduce your render distance until the issue is no longer present.
