For some reason my mods seem to be turning off most off my sounds and music

If there is a jar mod, a.k.a. a mod whose files are put into the minecraft jars, it sometimes may overwrite the 'com' folder instead of merging with it. This folder contains the sound codecs for the game and may be the reason why no sound is playing.

Double check you installation, What mod is it? And like what the replies said above me, What type? Jar or?
