I Recently started playing minecraft again after i read about the new update. I hadnt noticed right at first but there is no longer hostile mobs spawning. I checked /gamerule DoMobspawing=true. It was indeed set to true and i am playing on normal. The game itself runs well always has, neutral mobs still spawn and my farms are unaffected just the hostile mobs seem to not spawn anymore. I didnt notice untill i hit an undergroud mine (from spider spawners) and had to fend off spiders. I went back to my house and went out hunting for some rotten flesh to trade to the villagers not one skeleton zombie slime wolf and so on. My minecraft is not modded and never has been. Also nothing is spawning in the nether. This is an old world from before. Not sure what else i can do to get hostile mobs to spawn any help will be much appreciated.
Ummm...he said he was playing in normal. Read the post before you offer an answer that is of no help what so ever. I too am having the same issue and it all started around 14w30 or so. Mine too was in an older world. But now I am having the same issues with all new worlds that I create.
