Make sure you have enough RAM allocated for Minecraft, your graphics drivers are up to date, and make sure the world you are playing on doesn't have too many lag causing stuff like tile entities or entities. Try changing your video settings to lower values and if you're using a texture pack, try switching back to Vanilla textures.
*Sigh* Look, i really don't want to insult you, but did you even read my comment? I told you my memory usage is at an all time 10-20%, way more than enough is assigned. I know you guys are trying to help newbies who are just getting into this, but i'm an ace at minecraft resource management at this point. I have tried dozens of methods to increase fps, but nothing seems to help.
are you using Optifine? cause with that, as well as Video settings set to fast, Vsync off, FPS at max, and various other optifine tweaks it should run fairly well
Jesus Christ guys, just read my comments for once. I have tried everything starting from allocating more ram and fps increasing mods to running it through dataram ramdisk.
Maybe it's the problem with Java. It derps like that sometimes... I really don't see why your FPS is so low, I have 4 GBs of RAM and I get better FPS. Try updating Java if you haven't yet or maybe download Game Booster.
Well, i have the latest java 8, (And no, java 7 isn't faster either.) but game booster is so foreign to me, that i'd rather stay away. Seriously, what does it do? Close background applications? Cuz i got ram, but i don't know what i don't.
Yes it does close bacground processes, it detects ones that are not doing anything. For me it's pretty helpful because it increases my performance for about 40% and I get around 10 more FPS. I'm not sure if it will fix your problem. :/
Are you using a laptop? If so make sure your power usage is on High Performance, you do this by clicking on the battery Icon in your task bar and select more power options. It should be there.
