Can anyone tell me as to why i only get around 120 FPS with my intel core i7 4790k at 4.0Ghz??? A lot of people told me i would get like 250+ and i dont know why im not. PLEASE HELP! Thank you, in advance.
More PC Specs Just in case.
Memory: 8gb
Graphics card (i know its sucky planning on upgrading to GTX 770): AMD Radeon HD 6670

the gpu is what deals with the graphics of minecraft, not the cpu, also check if minecrafts fps limiter is turned on, i think its set to 120fps by default

Sorry for late reply. the processer is already at 4.0 GHz i dont think i would need to over clock much more. Can anyone help me get the hundreds of FPS i wanted

If you're using 1.8 version, than that is the problem. 1.8, so far, has been infamous for bad optimization. I have the 6670 as well, and it worked like a beauty in 1.7.
The only solutions would be to hop over to this thread and get the early access alpha Optifine for 1.8. (the 17th post by sp14x) Or you could just wait until a performance fix is released.
