This is more of a PC issue but im asking in here because its to be used for Minecraft.
I run both 1.7.0_67 and 1.8.0_20 as i just some Android develempent programs that require me to be on 1.8.
Now as im on 1.8 Minecraft also thinks im on 1.8 i would like to downgrade minecraft so it runs on 1.7 so i can then run the tekkit launcher as it doesnt work on 1.8
iv deleted 1.8 (moved to another location) and minecraft will not run, even after a reboot and a regestry change and PATH change to point everything to 1.7 yet minecraft will not run.
replace all my 1.8 files and minecraft runs again, its looking for 1.8. How do i fool minecraft to look for 1.7 rather than 1.8 which it is now doing??
You could use an batch file to launch the launcher (any MC launcher, be it vanilla, Technic, FTB, ATLauncher, etc) to use an specific version of Java you want. The launcher should also use same version for launching game itself as well that you launched the launcher with. I do not think you have to worry about things like-XMX arguments as launcher should do that itself anyway.
Thanks SeaWry, that helped and worked thats awsome
lol you dont know any good Tekkit servers do you?
I do not, I avoid public servers and stick to my own private ones. Most as said though above post, launchers can let you direct to the Java Bin directory of the version you want to use. However I intend no arguments and use what you feel best with. They all work; Be it by launcher java path or Batch.
