I have been having an issue as of late which started with a mod, (Minecraft comes alive) when it came out with an update I tried to download but didn't get far i downloaded it but the file would not open (I got a java virtual machine launcher error) I thought i would wait and try again later. Then today I tried to download MCA again and a couple new mods same thing it gave an error (failed to load main- class attribute and showed name the file). so I tried to download MCA again but the version before it for version 1.7.2, to try it out and it opened so now i'm not sure any suggestions? My game is version 1.7.10 and the latest forge and i'm not doing anything different go to site click the version wait 5 seconds it downloads when i go to open it the error shows.
When i click on the download link it takes me to of course the page that takes 5 seconds I wait then i go to maybe mediafire or the download starts. I have chrome so the download pops at the bottom of the screen showing the download you know and when i click on it to open the file it wont i get the error how am i double clicking on the mod .jar files? and i have read the install they same the same thing, the install guide says, 1. make sure you have forge 2 download mod 3 find the correct folder 4 put downloaded file into folder 5 when you click on the mods button in the game it should be there.
It isn't hard to install mods or work with them. You are over simplifying it I do believe. The video below is the same even if it says 1.6.1, nothing has changed for the mod installation since then except versions of things, but they are still installed/used the same way.
i know its not hard i have done it before and it has worked but when i tried to put the file in another way, that find the file (executable jar file) and place it in the mods folder when i go into the game it doesn't show.
I have it resolved, after playing around in the minecraft folders for a bit I realized the error it wasn't that I was double clicking or not it installing properly but thank you for your suggestions.
