The method I'm about to tell you lets you poke around in the files, but I assure you it can't be used to make a cracked launcher, so don't even try.
You can grab the JAR version of the launcher from here. If you rename the jar on the end to zip, it'll actually be a valid ZIP archive - Poke around in it, then rename it back to JAR when you're done. How cool!
