I'm running 1.8 and I can't get to my resource pack folder at all. If i use the file directory, that file apparently doesn't exist, and if I go into Minecraft and do "open resource pack folder" nothing happens. I've scoured the minecraft folder with no success.
Hi, I have the same problem as you describe in your post but I don't understand how you fixed it. Could you give me some more specifics?
I use Mac X
OSX - You are checking ~/Library/minecraft , correct? (details on this here)
Also, looking in your current profile (in the launcher) it does have that path in the "Game Directory" box? (Just make sure it's not anything weird or impossible.)
I had the same problem. Version 1.8 changed the name of the resource pack folder to "resources" the resource pack in the game menu looks for "/resourcepacks". I fixed mine by renaming the "resources" file to "resourcepacks" in my minecraft folder.
ya it worked for me to. I have a macbook pro. I went into the 1.7.10 minecraft copied the folder of the resource packs and went into the launcher clicked edit profile. Then clicked open game dictory and pasted the folder it worked!!!.
Press Windows icon and r to run then type something then it will lead you to the folders. Then click .minecraft and look in your texture packs folder and drag the downloaded texture pack into the Texture packs folder and done, If you had apple, I could not help you because i don't what to do about it
I have the same problem here as many others on this thread. I'm running Minecraft 1.8 on Windows 8, I have no folder named texturepacks or resourcepacks. I go into options and try to open it from there, no go. I tried adding it in. Windows still can't find it. I tried removing the .minecraft folder from the path and opening Minecraft program, forcing it to redownload the .minecraft folder with everything that should be in it, including the resourcepacks folder, and then starting a new world. Nothing. All I get when I try to open the resource packs folder after all of this is this Windows prompt that reads: Windows cannot find 'C:\Users\***********\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\resourcepacks'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again.
This is extremely frustrating. Note: the series of ************ in the above prompt is the redaction of my user profile name on my laptop.
EDIT: I kept trying the same thing out of sheer desperation and it suddenly worked. Weird that it randomly started working all of a sudden, but it's no longer an issue so I guess everything is all good.

What.
I'll go make a new thread for the Forge issue, but for now, this is resolved.
