I was playing 1.7.10 to check in with my favorite Multiplayer server, which hasn't been upgraded to 1.8 yet. I forgot I was in 1.7.10 and I went to my singleplayer world, which is 1.8. I noticed the birch doors to my house were missing, and quickly quit the game and booted it up in 1.8. Here's the problem- all the items in my chests, my inventory, and my horse's armor- it's all gone. I think it's probably because I booted it up in an old version by mistake. Is there any mod out there, or some way to load a save state before it accidentally wiped? Is there any way to fix this, or am I screwed? I'm running Windows 7. Thanks in advance.

Sorry to bump my own thread, but I really need help with this. Anything at all would be appreciated.

You're basically screwed. Make back-ups on a regular basis to stop from happening. I already seen someone else who had this happen to them and those items are now in the void. You can't retrieve them unless you cheat or feel like gathering all of it from the beginning.
