After updating to the newest version of Minecraft (1.8) I experienced numerous amounts of bugs ranging from lighting, lag, and many other graphical errors... As a test I downgraded (through the launcher) to the previous version of Minecraft (1.7.10) I logged in, came to the start menu and went to play on one of my worlds I have been playing on a lot recently. I was greeted with an empty inventory and every chest that was accessed pre 1.7.10 (i'm assuming) was wiped completely. My chests in the Nether seemed to be fine but those chests weren't filled with my spoils since the time I started...
Honestly I am not mad, disappointed yes but not entirely mad. I think the survival aspect of Minecraft has almost fully run it's course for me, this mess up may be the final nail in the coffin... I still enjoy building freely to my hearts content, as it's what I always seem to do on Minecraft these days...
Either way, if you know of a way to fix this or get my items back that would be great, if not no worries but I do hope you heed this warning...

You want these emeralds? Too bad! These are MY emeralds!
I don't care if you have a egg or dragon in your signature. I'm not gonna click it.
