Out of curiousity, I'm running windows now but I have windows with a fiery passion as it seems to ruin all things. Would switching back to Ubuntu help with this at all? I'm guessing not but it can't hurt to ask I suppose.
It also says the file that link suggests I download is malicious...
Ubuntuu might work, it all depends upon the driver. You need a driver that either implements the particular Open GL call without this bug, or that doesn't claim to support the call. However the latter driver will eventually cause a problem when / if Mojang makes it a required level of support.

Out of curiousity, I'm running windows now but I have windows with a fiery passion as it seems to ruin all things. Would switching back to Ubuntu help with this at all? I'm guessing not but it can't hurt to ask I suppose.
