I am trying to play the new 1.8 update on my pc without internet. I downloaded the game at a local library and took the .minecraft folder and put it on my flashdrive. I got it home and put it in the appdata roaming folder and it started up fine, the play offline button is normal and highlighted, and when I click on it, it turns gray and loads and then the play offline button is highlighted again, and it doesn't launch the game. I tried it again with 1.7.2 and it worked and again with 1.6.4. It seems to me that after the twitch update it isn't working, and on a side note it says ready to update and play on newer than 1.7.2 versions, and just ready to play on older versions. Please help. I really want to try some of the amazing 1.8 adventure maps, and do a new survival series. Thank you for the responses.
Sorry man, wish I could help you, I suggest that you try to start it up again then post everything in the game log on here so that when someone that might know how to fix it can know what is going on.
