This morning I was playing around on my 1.8 profile. I wanted to make some sandstone and decided to jump back to my Minecraft Forge mod so that I could do it with the special crafting tables. I didn't think there would be a problem, even though the mod is outdated, but I probably should have seen this coming. I started playing and I noticed that my pictures and display cases were on the ground. All my inventory is gone and most of my chests are empty! I've heard about people in the past having this problem, but I wasn't sure if the mod was responsible. I don't normally use mods, but I just get so tired of having to manually craft everything.
I doubt there is any way to restore my stuff. My most recent backup was a month ago, way before I finished my large ocean bridge, so I don't feel like going back to it. I suppose I could just work on replacing what I lost, but that will take a long time. Does anyone know if the old mod is the problem? Or is it a problem with the 1.8 patch?
Never mind, sorry I should have did a search, I was just so upset I had to vent. Seems like this is what happens when you load a world in an old version of the game when you played in the most recent. Not sure I can do anything, but I'm going to try and see if I can restore the save file.
*Update* I just used cheats to restore some of my stuff. I'll make sure to backup my saves more often.
