I think you'll have to have an internet connection at least at some point so that you can log in, then you can play without an internet connection.

Gee I thought the command was 'ifconfig wlan down'. Or a pair of scissors to the network cable always works. :-)

Just wondering if minecraft can be installed and played without connecting to the internet?
