My issue is that I want to use OptiFine 1.6.4 with Forge Server 1.6.4

Does anyone know how to make this work. I have search for hours and the only thing I find is crap about using Optifine with Forge on reagular minecraft.

I would really love to be able to get the performance boost in my mod world server with my friends.

Thanks in advance for any info you can provide. If there is no way to do it then maybe some kind of alternative that will do the trick?

If you want optifine in to run in both client and server, I'm pretty sure that's not possible; optifine is a client-side mod, and in 1.7.x versions (at least) have crashed the server when put in the server's mods folder.

I think all you have to do to install Optifine for 1.6.4 is install forge, and drag the .jar of the optifine version you want into the mods folder of your client.
