Ever since 1.8 was released, the game freezes constantly and is unplayable. Since there doesn't seem to be a way to contact Mojang directly for tech support (mineceraft.net tells me to go here for help), I need someone to help me fix this, or revert back to the previous version I was using before this forced upgrade.
Updates are never forced upon you. You can select the version used under "use version" in the "edit profile" menu. Note that since there was a change in NBT structure, your inventory/items will disappear if you switch back to 1.7.x
I opened the game and clicked play, and suddenly I was using 1.8. There were no prompts asking me if I wanted to update the version I was playing. That to me is a forced update.
That being said, thanks for letting me know how to downgrade to the previous version I was using, I just downgraded to 1.7.10 (the last version I was using, and the game works as perfectly as it did last week.
How do you contact Mojang directly to send them feedback? I think it's absolutely ridiculous to release an updated version of a piece of software that renders the software unusable.
