Minecraft not completely allocating the RAM that I assigned?

Sorry if I seem like a complete nub for posting this, but I'm wondering why Minecraft won't completely allocate the amount of RAM I have it set to. Do any of you happen to have a way to fix this?

It is using the ram it's just not using ALL the ram as you can see in the JVM arguments you set the ram to 6144M on the top right of the screen it is just using part of it, so it's not using up all of your computer. I hoped helped!

ADDITIONAL: You use more of the ram when there is a lot going on, for an example when TNT explodes. There is a very little chance you are going to need to use all 6144M.
