Whenever I try to run minecraft.exe the process is running, but the launcher never opens. I have tried to wait it out but gave up after around 24-30 hours. I have tried multiple versions of the game and even alternate launchers but none of them work.
Also, run a virus scan on your computer. Some viruses can infect files and make them nonfunctional.
