I've attached a few screenshots of what happens if I change my render distance at all in 1.8. Please try to keep in mind these screenshot are taken in the exact same place, only moving a few blocks. I haven't seen this game broken this badly since early beta. I don't even know how to begin to fix it, all I know the default (12 chunks) is uncomfortable to play on. Also, why is my reticle a mixture of 3 colors?
My graphics drivers are up-to-date. I have the newest version of Java 64-Bit installed. Every other game I play works just fine.
idk... the same thing happens to me... I just stay at 15 chunks render distance. Also your cursor is those colors to show you the direction you're facing: x and negative x z and negative z y and negative y if you turn off your debug screen (f3) it will go back to normal.

Yep, that's exactly what I'm experiencing. Appears only to be people with AMD Graphics Cards. At least I know it's a fault of Minecraft, not anything I did.
At first I just figured it was to be expected, since Microsoft just bought Mojang, but then I started looking into the issues: world only partially renders, some blocks invisible, can only place some items, but then breaking/interacting with anything causes freeze (must use task manager to close) EXTREEEEEME lag, block textures sometimes appear black, place a TNT block on ground and add button, when activating button, block just sits there then disappears, 60 seconds later you get the boom.
Anyway, I have seen in a couple dark corners of the internets is that it's because I have an AMD system, but no info is given as to if it will be fixed or if I need to do something to fix it? I don't know. emails to support go nowhere and I'm told i can't be helped. (Again, Microsoft influence must be already taking hold)
Yeah, for now I'm just going with the Microsoft as an explanation. I like that better.
I tried reporting the bug/glitch on that page, A very short time later it was changed to duplicated/resolved. Wait a sec, how is it resolved and where do i find that info on how to resolve it?

I guess waiting for a bugfix is in order. I can go up to 16 chunks before it goes screwy on me.
Stu
No problem! I always play with f3 on and i was confused at first but i experimented with it and... yeah
Wait for a patch I guess.
Minecraft is completely broken on my machine.
