Whenever I launch Forge, the launcher closes and nothing happens.
I don't know why, but I feel like the recent 1.5.3 launcher might be the reason for this.

Uninstall your current java version: http://www.java.com/en/download/help/uninstall_java.xml
Then download Java 1.7 u67 for your OS bit version, if you have 64 bit then its x64, if you have x86 then its 32 bit. However with 64 bit, you still need to install 32 bit for web browsers to use should they need to (highly optional).
