I had Java 7 update 60 (x64) but uninstalled it because i had some "pure virtual function call" error (see last added picture) after closing Minecraft and a lot of Lag on game.
It started encountering big packs of lycanites mobs in jungle, lag was horrible, so i tried to change some Video Options but didnt work. The only change that worked fine sometimes was inclosing rendering range to minimum. After that I put all Video Options to original settings but didnt work, keep laging. Also i cant undo the "Smooth World" option to ON.
After that uninstalled java and got Java 8 update 20 (x64) . Just Minecraft Launcher works. When i click on Play mi cpu works for a little bit and then nothing.
Win7 x64
Minecraft 1.7.10
Note*: My first lag experience was just on jungle biomes with lots of Lycanite mobs in it. Then i changed video setting to multicore and some changes at chunk loadings. After that i have lag everywhere everytime
Put those in Default Launcher -> Edit Profile -> JVM arguments.

I tried what u posted and still laging too much .
Can i provide you more info ?
When i start, world charges fast, then start working horse talisman. Once world is charged (at least what i can see around me) lag starts.
My first lag experience was just on jungle biomes with lots of Lycanite mobs in it. Then i changed video setting to multicore and some changes at chunk loadings. After that i have lag everywhere everytime
Also ive arranged to resourcepacks folder : Dooms-Unnamed & Pictroll resourcepacks. Te first one activated 2 times (undo to default) and secod one just activated once. Actually on default
I did all that you say, but still game got several lag, also sometimes pieces what im loking at becomes transparent.
On added pictures you can see that using a Fancy Workbench start this bug when im dragging recipe books. This happened to me before setting to Multi-core. Transparent areas becomes normal if i move a little or in time. Also happens when geting atacked by mobs.
I can play normally on Render Distance 3 Short, but i dont understand, just 2 days ago i was able to play at Render Distance 7 Normal and 8 + just experiencing lag on jungles with several packs of mobs.
Sometimes when i close MC a Java error pops up on window`s desktop, ive tried to PrintScreen but when i paste there is nothing than my desktop on the image. I will try to catch it with mi cell phone
Note*: Using Max FPS to Unlimited also make removed blocks with a pick to flash after being trully removed (they remove, then they appear again, then remove totally, loot drops normally)
Note2*: Also some minor graphic issues. See las added picture at hunger bar. Those bubbles stay there for a long time.
Looks like Optifine's Multi-core/Nvidia conflict again. Go to Nvidia control panel and turn off "Threaded optimization". That should stop the flickering.
I forgot to ask. Which version of Minecraft are you playing on? That Fastcraft mod is only for 1.7.10.
BTW: About "Smooth world" and "Lazy chunk loading" options. Those work ONLY on single core processors. They can't be turned on on multi core CPU, and if by some coincidence they are turned on, they just won't work. Their counterpart is "Multi-core chunk loading"
I will check tomorrow, thank you so much for your time
Meanwhile, ive managed to catch the error
Searching on google, it looks like either Java or Minecraft are damaged
Nah. I also saw it a few times. This might be the result of some garbage left over from multiple Java installations but shouldn't be anything serious.
This shows up for a few seconds only when the game is closing?
Yep, just an error after closing. I just thought maybe it has something to do with the lag issue, but never mind.
Ive tried to do what you say about Nvidia control panel, but i just cant select Minecraft.jar on the list or neither arrange it into the list to change Threaded Optimization. I looked for how to do it it on Youtube :
Note*: I just realize you are tring to help me with the flickering issue (multicore-nvidia panel control). But even with the java arguments you gave me and even with video settings you told me to set, game still laging as hell.
Im not being ungreatfull, just saying. I can play on Render Size 4-Short but i cant even see the Ghast shooting fireballs at me T_T. Im wondering why suddently after changing some video settings (& to multicore) i started to have more lag than when i just encountered big packs of mobs, and seems to be irreversible.
Note2*: Looking out for tutorials i realized that mi minecraft.jar does not have the usual Minecraft Icon, is just a Java Icon. Maybe something`s wrong? (last added picture) Because Nvidia control panel just detect .exe files on programs list and mi minecraft is .jar
If you can't disable "Threaded Optimization" globally (i.e. for everything) then do it for "javaw.exe". But you really should try doing it globally, I hear the feature is pretty badly optimized (despite it's name) and actually may lower performance.
Minecraft runs as a Java thread and the actual program that runs it in Windows is "javaw.exe".
As for the flickering? Optifine's Multi-core chunk loading allows the game to use 2 CPU cores for the purpose of, well, chunk loading (normally it uses only 1 core). Nvidia's "Threaded Optimization" is a feature that supposedly increases performance by using multiple CPU cores to help with graphical processing. Those two conflict causing the flickering.
Since Nvidia's feature does little, or even outright lowers performance (I've seen some tests), it's best to disable it. Multi-core chunk loadig helps a lot on the other hand.
Man.... im so frustrated. Cant solve the Lag problem, i can play now 1 more Render Distance Level (5 Short) though.
I think mi computer just can`t deal with it, strange because i got an average video card plus 4G ram (World of Warcraft run just perfectly with "good" video settings). Maybe this is all after i made a Floating Greenhouse with 140 glass blocks wide.
Thanks for all your time and effort Grimallq, you care and enjoy helping, thats just great.

After instaling Fastcraft (uninstalled actually) my Metheor Crash Detector (item) isn`t working as it should. Before Fastcraft it showed me the exact place of last metheor crash, now it works out of place about 20-50 blocks form the last metheor crash, any hint about solving this ?

You can also try allocating more RAM or using these personal JVM arguments (allocates RAM for you and other stuff):
Put those in Default Launcher -> Edit Profile -> JVM arguments.
