When I put the Mipmap slider at the lowest setting, the white lines in the ground disappear, but the textures themselves (and especially in things like the grass blocks) are incredibly grainy. Putting Mipmap at the highest setting makes the textures less grainy, but the white lines are even worse.
My specs:
OS Name Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3610QM CPU @ 2.30GHz, 2301 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s)
Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 6.00 GB
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M (2gb)
First of all, the Nvidia control panel seems to do nothing towards Minecraft's AA/AF usage. I went through this tutorial: http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/support/unmodified-minecraft-client/tutorials-and-faqs/1871624-anti-aliasing-in-minecraft-for-nvidia-users
However, neither this method nor the global Nvidia settings would affect anything in-game.
Here's a pic showing the graphic problems:

Not really sure what to do, the white lines weren't present before 1.8, and even before that I couldn't do anything with AA.
Help is much appreciated!
P.S. Not familiar with these forums, sorry if this is in wrong section or something (I think this is the right section?)
Edit: Java and drivers are up to date
