Hello, I just updated to 1.8 and now I get a crash report every time I try to open MC. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but no luck (I wasn't sure how deep to go in my uninstalling process). Any and all help will be appreciated. Also, I'm on a Mac (if that makes a difference in this situation). Thanks!

I'm not sure if this would be the cause but it looks like your computer is running Java 6. Are you able to update to Java 7? (I don't know how Macs handle Java.)
I am having the same issue and not sure if there is a Java update. WIndows 7 64 bit

I just updated my java to the latest, and it didn't solve my problem. Right now I'm trying to find a way to fix the "java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space" it seems like that might be your problem as well.
Go to this page and scroll down to Extreme_Heat's reply. The problem could be caused by an old resource pack. I simply deleted all of mine (after making copies just in case). It started up immediately. Hope this helps!
