This is a bug in your Intel video drivers. There is nothing that Mojang can do to fix that. Intel also won't fix it because it is obsolete and no longer supported.
No, seriously. I run MC1.8 on an Intel 965 graphic on linux mint 17 with ~60 FPS everything works fine
EDIT: Forget what I posted^^ I don't have an Intel 965. But you can still try it with linux

You have options. Run 1.7.2 or older only. Upgrade your hardware. Or try the unsupported and unguaranteed work around here: http://hopper.minecraft.net/help/references/intel-4-series-chipsets/
