Hi, I'm having a problem. Whenever I try to allocate more RAM into Minecraft(I have 8gigs and Java 64bit), Minecraft loads BUT it only says it's using only 455mb of RAM. Can anyone help?
It could be the environment variable java_options only letting it use that much. I had this same problem and just deleting the value of the environment variable fixed it. If you don't know, the environment variables are under Computer, system properties, advanced system settings, then environment variables. A variable that is something like java_options should be in the list of system variables.Just click on edit and delete the contents of it. Hope this helps. Please someone correct me if I'm wrong
Well it'll only use what it needs. Allocating more will mean it has more to keep track of, but does not mean that it needs more memory. If it's only using 455 MB, then you could probably run it with 512 MB. If that starts having problems, you could change it to 1 GB, though you probably won't need more than that.
I made my own shader pack, by the way.

Retired StaffIt's named _JAVA_OPTIONS, with the underscore infront as well.
Might help, the workarounds can work even if Razer is not the issue.
