I have a very good laptop (not a gaming laptop, but it runs awesome) that I have been playing on for quite a while. One day about 6 months ago it was working fine, the next day it pretty much wouldn't work at all. The fps would jump around rapidly ; 15, 3, 27, 48, 0, 3, 9, changing every second. I lost interest in minecraft (not because of this) and came back 4 months later and it still wasn't working. I cleared and re-formatted the blasted thing and it ran 200+ fps for 5 mins before jumping around again. I allocated most of the memory to java and it still wouldn't work. Any suggestions?
Your laptop might not be as great as you think. Try lowering your graphics settings. Also, more memory doesn't mean the game runs better unless you were using up almost all of the original memory.
Thanks for the reply. I ran everything at the absolutely lowest settings and tried some other games on java and they worked fine. I'm not really sure what to do, I redownloaded minecraft to make sure nothing was corrupted. It must have something to do with the way my computer runs the game.
Fps out of control.. Jumps around randomly. Hardware Problem?
