Minecraft Forums

I know this is a pretty frequently asked question, but nothing really worked for me. I start up the forge version of minecraft, and then the launcher closes and nothing pops up. No error, no explanation. No alternate download or anything works. But half the time when I install forge, an error pops up that says that there might have been a problem with the installation. I'm also modless, this is my first time using Forge. I'm using Windows 8.1 if that helps at all.
