I have seen other people with similar problems, but all of the solutions I've seen either don't work, or they are out of date. I recently installed Minecraft on my laptop, and I am trying to play it without any mods (yet). The game installed fine, and the launcher works fine. The game starts up, and goes to the Mojang logo as usual. After the normal amount of time on the logo, the game crashes, and this is the error report I get. This crash came AFTER I checked to see that my graphics card and DirectX are both up to date, as well as updating java.

1: Restart your computer and try again.
2: Mess around with your security settings. This error is telling you that Minecraft does not have permission to read or write files. If that won't work, try your privacy settings.

I was just able to get 1.6.2 to work, but haven't tried anything else other than the newest stable version and 1.6.2. Perhaps it's my computer not being able to handle the new version? I'll add this as an update in the main post.

That is exactly as my post entails. You can only run Mineraft version 1.7.2 and below. Due to faulty drivers.
