I'm using the new Tekkit for 1.6.4. with some extra mods (totally 130 mods), without Gregtech. It takes around 3-4 minutes (forever) until I see the main menu since launching Minecraft from the desktop. Is it normal for this amount of mods? I also use mixed recource pack (sphax with chroma hills).
How are the times by you guys? Are there some tricks to improve load time?

Game is running good, constant 60fps, only loading it takes forever...
I play Tekkit with 146 mods installed and I have the same problem. Giving Tekkit more ram seems to speed it up a bit. But I think it's just something we have to live with. Also I noticed on my Pc it takes longer to load if you have a texture pack active on start up. Hope this helps you.

also your grphics card doesnt matter for minecraft btw since mc uses the cpu for graphics because its built in java
