i installed minecraft after i formatted the laptop, but it is very slow and laggy, where as it runs smoothly on my other computer with a 1 GB of ram

your CPU? GPU?
"Pavilion G series" simply isn't enough, I had a Pavilion G7 and it ran Minecraft just fine.
RAM is irrelevant to how fast you can run something, especially minecraft.
